Astrology AI browser extension · Last updated 21 September 2026

Short version: your birth details are kept in your own browser, your conversations are kept on our server, and the only thing we hand to an outside company is the astrological calculation plus the question you typed. We do not sell data, we do not run ads, and we do not store your IP address. The extension itself contains no analytics at all; our welcome page counts visits without cookies.

Who we are

Astrology AI is a Chrome extension that answers questions about a birth chart. This policy describes what the extension and its backend service do with information. It covers the extension and the service at api.astrology-ai.app.

What stays in your browser

The following is written to your browser's local extension storage and is never uploaded as a stored profile:

The city list used by the birth form ships inside the extension, so typing a birthplace does not contact anyone.

Removing the extension, or clearing its site data, erases all of the above. We cannot recover it, because we never had a copy of it.

What we receive and keep on our server

Every question you send travels to our service, because the chart is calculated there and the answer is generated there. We keep:

Birth details are sent with each request but are not stored on the server. They are used to calculate the chart and are removed from the calculated chart before it is cached. The cache holds planetary positions and aspects, not dates or places of birth.

What we send to the AI provider

Readings are generated by a large language model run by a third-party provider, which processes what we send on our behalf. We send:

We do not send your date, time or place of birth, your coordinates, your time zone, your account identifier or your conversation identifier.

Being straightforward about the limit of this: a chart is derived from birth data, and an expert could work backwards from it. This reduces what is exposed; it does not make the data anonymous. And because your question is sent as written, please treat it as you would any message typed into an online service.

Our own server is in Amsterdam, the Netherlands; the provider runs requests on its own infrastructure, which may be outside the European Union.

What we do not do

Our server keeps a technical log of requests — time, path, response status, browser identification string — to diagnose failures. These logs rotate and are overwritten.

Installing the extension opens our welcome page on this same domain. That page counts visits with Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service. It sets no cookies, stores no personal data and cannot follow you to other sites: it tells us how many people opened the page, from which country and in which browser — never who they are. The extension itself is not counted and does not talk to the service at all.

How long we keep things, and how to delete them

Readings are for reflection

Interpretations are generated text, offered for reflection and entertainment. They are not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. Material changes will also be noted in the extension's listing.
